Tips for MTG Imports

Use Collector Numbers for Variants

Many Magic cards have multiple versions in the same set. Always use the collector number for:

  • Alternate art versions

  • Showcase frames

  • Extended art

  • Borderless cards

  • Promo versions

Example: "Fatal Push" from Double Masters 2022 has multiple versions:

  • Regular: #089

  • Borderless: #331

  • Foil Etched: #430

Set Codes or full set name

Both ways are as reliable:

  • โœ… "MH2" and "Modern Horizons 2"

  • โœ… "NEO" and "Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty"

  • โœ… "DMR" and "Dominaria Remastered"

Handling Double-Faced Cards

For transform cards, use the front face name and number:

  • โœ… "Delver of Secrets // Insectile Aberration" (we need the full name of both faces)

  • โœ… Use the collector number from the front face

List Cards and The List

Cards from "The List" use their original set code and number, not the reprint set.

Common MTG Import Issues

"Card not found" for Older Cards

  • Check if you're using the Oracle text name (current official name)

  • Some cards have been renamed over the years

  • Use collector number when possible

Secret Lair Variants

  • Each Secret Lair has a specific set code

  • Use the exact collector number for the variant

  • Check the SLD set code (e.g., SLD 001-010)

Commander Products

  • Commander precons have their own set codes

  • Examples: C21 (Commander 2021), CMR (Commander Legends)

  • Some cards are Commander-exclusive

Sample CSV Format

Here's an example of a properly formatted MTG CSV:

CardName,PrintNumber,Expansion,Condition,Finish,Quantity,Language
