When adjusting my view for the lists in the settings esp. swaping from grid to list is not working for the list view. Meanwihle, it worked for the inventory view but not for the list view.
Overriding this configuration globally takes effect once you create a new list. It does not override the configurations that you have for each list, because each list can have its own configuration that you can set at the list level.
So if you want to have a custom configuration for one list you can do that at the list level.
But if you want to do it for each game, you need to do it inside of your setting and your global detail, just like you've shown inside of this screenshot.
You might want to reload the page once the configuration has been done at the least level, because I feel like right now it does not apply directly. For that, I will be pushing a fix real soon.

Sorry but my preferences are not updated once I change the display setting for lists in contrast to the inventory view where it works fine.
