Tags, locations, comments and notes

Beyond condition and language, every card in your inventory can carry four kinds of extra information: tags, a location, a comment for buyers, and a private internal note. Here's what each one is for and where to set them.

Tags — label anything, your way

Tags are flexible labels you attach to cards. A card can have as many tags as you like, so they're perfect for anything that cuts across your collection: cards you're saving for a deck, cards you plan to grade, cards a friend is borrowing.

Six ready-made tags come with your account: Borrowed, Treasure, Investment, For Trade, To List, To Grade. You can also create your own, each with its own color and icon — "Modern staples", "Grandma's binder", whatever fits your system.

Location — where the card physically is

A location answers one question: where is this card right now? "Binder A", "Trade box", "Display case". Unlike tags, each card line has exactly one location — a card can't be in two boxes at once.

You create locations yourself as you go, straight from the location picker: use Choose location on a card without one, or Change location / Remove location later.

Split to another location

Own 12 copies of a card but only 4 live in your trade box? Use Split to another location. You choose the Units to move and the destination in Move to location — with handy Half and For all shortcuts — and the copies split into two lines, each with its own location. Your totals don't change; you've just recorded reality.

Comment — what buyers see

The comment is buyer-facing: Comment for buyers. It appears only on items you have for sale, right on the marketplace listing. Use it for things a buyer wants to know before purchasing — "small whitening on the back corner", "ships in a top loader".

Because it's tied to selling, the Comment column doesn't appear on the Collection view of your inventory.

Internal note — for your eyes only

The internal note is the opposite: Internal note (not visible by others). Nobody but you ever sees it — not buyers, not visitors to your profile. Use it for anything private: what you paid, who you got it from, "check for edge wear before trading".

Where to set all four

• Table columns — in List layout, show the Location, Tags, Comment, and Internal note columns and edit values right in the table.

• Bulk actions — select several cards, then use Set tags or Set location to apply the same value to all of them at once. see Bulk actions: edit many cards at once

• The product details dialog — open View details on any card to edit tags, location, comment, and internal note per line of copies.

• CSV imports — your import file can include Location and Tags columns, and they're filled in automatically as the cards are imported. Any location or tag that doesn't exist yet is created for you — great for bringing over an existing organization system in one go.

Filtering and finding by tags and location

The Filters sidebar on your inventory includes Location and Tags filters. Combine them with the rest of the sidebar to answer real questions in seconds: everything in "Binder A" tagged For Trade, or all your To Grade cards worth over a certain market value.

Good to know

• Tags and locations apply per line of copies. If you own a card in several conditions, each line can have its own location and tags.

• The comment and the internal note stay strictly separate when you sell. The internal note remains private even once the item is listed — nobody ever sees it. If you want buyers to see a message, add the buyer-facing comment when you list the item for sale.

• Deleting a card doesn't delete your tags or locations; they stay available for the rest of your collection.
