Adding cards to your inventory

All the ways to add cards — quick search, bulk import, graded cards, and adding straight from the catalog.

Whether you're logging a single pull or entering a whole binder, there's an adding method that fits. This article covers the Add to inventory menu, how Add for sale differs, and the shortcuts for adding cards while you browse the catalog.

The Add to inventory menu

On your inventory page, click Add to inventory and pick a method:

The fastest way to add cards one by one. Type a card's name, pick the right printing, set the details, and it lands in your inventory. Great for a handful of new arrivals.

💡 Tip: Quick search is built for rapid-fire entry. Use the arrow keys to highlight a result and press Enter — the card is added instantly with your defaults, a green checkmark confirms it, and the window stays open so you can type the next name right away. Escape clears your search text instead of closing the window.

Bulk import

For anything bigger — a spreadsheet, a deck list, or a large batch of cards. Bulk import opens an import workspace where you can add products from a CSV file, from text, by filters, and more, then review everything before it's committed to your inventory. Add graded card

For slabbed cards, Add graded card captures the details that matter:

  • Grader — the grading service (PSA, Beckett, CGC, and others)

  • Grade — the grade on the slab

  • Certification — the certification number

  • Pictures of the slab

Graded cards show up in your inventory with their service and grade in the Condition column. If you're entering a stack of slabs, tick Add another graded card after this and the dialog reopens ready for the next one.

How Add for sale is different

Add to inventory records what you own. Add for sale does that and puts the items on the marketplace in one go — you set a sell price as you add them.

Add for sale offers two methods:

  • Quick search — add and list cards one by one.

  • Import a file — upload a CSV to list many products at once via List for sale via CSV. You pick the game in the dialog, and the currency comes from your seller profile.

If you just want to log cards without selling them, stick with Add to inventory — you can always list items for sale later.

Adding cards while you browse

You don't have to start from your inventory page:

  • From the catalog — when exploring, switch to the Collect tab to browse the full catalog and add cards to your inventory as you find them.

  • From a product page — on any card's detail page, the My collection tab lets you add copies of that card directly.

  • A whole expansion at once — on a game's page in Explore, open the … menu on any expansion tile and choose Add to inventory or Add to list. A dialog lets you configure exactly what to add before anything happens — the fastest way to log a complete set.

These routes are handy when you're checking prices or exploring a new expansion and spot something you own.

Your defaults do the typing for you

Every time you add a card, its condition and language are pre-filled with your default values — Near Mint and English out of the box. If most of your collection is, say, French Near Mint cards, set that once in your preferences and every add starts from there. You can still change the values on any individual card.

Adding one card with different settings

You don't have to change your defaults just because one card is different. Two lesser-known shortcuts let you set a specific condition or language for a single card as you add it:

  • In Quick search — click the chevron next to a card in the results to unfold its Advanced settings, pick the condition and language for that copy, and add it.

  • On a product page — open the … menu next to the add button and choose Add with other settings.

Your defaults stay untouched — only that one card gets the special treatment. Perfect for the odd Japanese foil in a box of English cards.

Good to know

  • Just bought cards on the CardNexus marketplace? After your purchase, a prompt asks Add to inventory? — one click adds everything you just bought to your collection, so it stays current on its own.

  • Starting from an empty inventory? The empty page offers Add and Start selling buttons to get you going.

  • If you leave a bulk import unfinished, a banner appears on your inventory page with Resume import and Delete import, so nothing gets lost.

  • Adding a card doesn't list it for sale. Items only appear on the marketplace when you list them — see Selling from your inventory.
